No Charges From Shooting

RCMP say they have nothing further to release at this time on last Friday’s shootings in Lavington and Vernon.

One man was found with a gunshot injury at a hotel parking lot on 27th Street and later died, which police said may have started with a violent and targeted break and enter at a home on Park Lane in Lavington several hours earlier.

One man was was taken into custody, but police have not issued any updates on him, or any charges.

There also hasn’t been any updates on the name of the victim, or if the shooting was drug or gang related.

“We don’t have anything for public release at this time,” said Constable Kelly Brett in an email to Beach Radio News.

Mounties said on Friday they believed the two incidents were related, and that the investigation was in the early stages, with officers examining the scenes for physical evidence and canvassing the areas for witnesses.
