School Concerned About Vaping

A Vernon school has emailed parents over concerns about an increase in students vaping and juuling.

Seaton Secondary Principal Erica Schmidt says in the email, it’s even happening in their bathrooms, change rooms and school hallways.

“This creates an unsafe environment for some youth and staff needing to access these spaces. Vaping, juuling, or smoking on or around school property is a breach of the school codes of conduct,” says Schmidt in the email forwarded to Beach Radio News.

The principal says anyone caught vaping or in possession of vape product, or smoking on school property will face school-based consequences including suspensions.
