Volunteers step up for 2019 Special Olympics

After a call for more volunteers nearly two weeks ago for the upcoming 2019 Special Olympics B.C Winter Games, organizers say they are pleased with the level of support from the community.

” The support has just been incredible from the Greater Vernon community, there’s incredible support from sponsors from donors to incredible volunteers response to incredible community engagement” said Megan Pollock; Special Olympics B.C Communications Manager .

The organization says they have reached the 800 volunteers needed for the games but add that positions are still available.

” We are just so excited and appreciative and I think athletes from all over the province are so excited to come to Greater Vernon, and be ready to finally compete .”
