MLA Questioned About Political Future

Eric Foster says it’s a long ways away.

The three-term Liberal MLA for Vernon Monashee says he hasn’t decided if he will run again in the next BC election, scheduled for the fall of 2021.

“I don’t want to say one way or the other right now. The fall of 2021 is a long time from now and we’ll lay it all by ear as we go forward,” Foster tells Beach Radio News.

The 69 year old former Lumby mayor says it depends on several factors.

“A lot of things can happen in this business in two and a half years. We’ll see if Janice (his wife) and I are still in good health, and if I’m happy, still enjoying it, and if they still want me. One never knows,” says Foster.

Liberal Leader Andrew Wilkinson recently said the party is looking to shift to some renewal, adding three members of his caucus are expected to announce they won’t be seeking re-election, but didn’t give any names.
