The City of Armstrong is looking into additional screening on its main drinking water source.
Mayor Chris Pieper says outside firms have been secured to develop a plan for Fortune Creek.
“This is trying to enhance our current intake and screen more of the debris that comes down in the spring break-up, so w wouldn’t have to rely on wells so much during spring freshet,” Pieper tells beach Radio News.
Pieper says the increased turbidity in Fortune Creek forces the city to rely on wells for up to two months in the spring.
