Tourney Raises Record Amount for Surgical Care
A record-breaking $300,000 has been raised by golfers attending last weekend’s annual Vernon Jubilee Hospital Foundation Charity Classic golf tournament at Predator Ridge.
The foundation is hoping to raise $3.6-million over 18 months for surgical care at the hospital.
VJHF executive director Lisa Westermark says the money will go to the foundation’s current campaign ‘Operation: Surgical Care for Life’ campaign.
“We’re at a tipping point in our operating rooms now where we really can’t serve as many people as we need to, as quickly as we need to,” says Westermark.
