Meet the Cops Over Coffee

The Vernon North Okanagan RCMP want to have a coffee … with you.

Coffee with a Cop has been adopted by many law enforcement agencies across North America as a way for the public and business owners to meet and engage with local police officers in an informal setting.

Beginning in September, RCMP officers of various ranks will be available to meet with the public at a local coffee shop in the North Okanagan.

Even the new detachment commander is getting involved.

This is a great opportunity for me to introduce myself to the communities and hear what’s important to them,” says Superintendent Shawna Baher. “It’s also an opportunity for the community members to get to know their local officers and staff that work within their community. We are always striving to build on existing relationships with the public and this is just another way to accomplish that.

Thursday September 6th, 2018 – Jitter Beans Coffee House (1962 Vernon Street) – Lumby
Friday September 7th, 2018 – Wild Oak Café (2539 Pleasant Valley Rd) – Armstrong
Tuesday September 11th, 2018 – Ranch Café (Highway 97) – Falkland
Wednesday September 12th, 2018 – Hungry Jack’s (602 Cliff Ave) – Enderby
Thursday September 13th, 2018 – Triumph Coffee (3401a 30th Ave) – Vernon
Friday September 14th, 2018 – Friesen’s Countrytyme Gardens (9172 Kalamalka Rd) – Coldstream
