The SPCA has returned five puppies to their owner after the dogs were picked up by provincial firefighters who thought they were lost in the North Okanagan

It turns out the 12 week old dogs belong to Heidi Lang, who owns a 600 plus acre farm off Mabel Lake Road near Lumby, and says they are livestock guardian dogs who roam her property.

Shelley Zupp from the Wildfire Service says the firefighters just did what they thought was right.

“The firefighters did the right thing, and they were advised to do so by the RCMP, and now the puppies are with the SPCA,” Zupp told Beach Radio News Tuesday.
