Vernon Keeps Building

Housing starts in Vernon continue to run ahead of last year at this time.

Canada Mortgage And Housing Corporation says there were 60 starts in July compared with 31 in July.

Twenty-Seven of those were single-detached homes, 20 were apartments, seven row houses and six semi-detached homes.

So far this year, there have been 279 housing starts compared to 177 to the end of July last year.
