Hot July But No Record Broken
The Okanagan’s hot July was not enough to break any monthly records.
“It’s been exceedingly hot, with temperatures reaching well into the 30s and even flirting with the 40s in some locations,” says Environment Canada meteorologist Matt MacDonald. “What is surprising is we didn’t break any monthly records and the issue being there is overnight lows were relatively cool.”
MacDonald tells Beach FM that July of last year, when the scorching Cariboo fires broke out, was even hotter.
He says the average temperature last year in the Okanagan was 23.3 degrees Celcius.
