Queen Silver Star Program Saved

The Queen Silver Star Excellence Program will live on.

Organizers of the Vernon Winter Carnival event that dates back 58 years, say they have eight confirmed candidates, and are waiting on the paperwork for a ninth.

The program had been in jeopardy of folding due to a lack of candidates a couple of weeks ago.

“We are overwhelmed by the amount of support that the North Okanagan showed when we announced that the program was in jeopardy,” says Carnival chair Deb White. “The amount of emails, phone calls, Facebook shares, comments and support was absolutely amazing”
