Update: Second Leak In Water Main

A second leak has been discovered near where a water main break on Kokanee Road was repaired Wednesday night.

The City of Vernon says the road will remain closed until the leak has been repaired which will most likely be Friday afternoon.

Paving or patching of the road will take place Monday.

Update: 9:30 am

The City of Vernon says the water main break in the Sunset Properties area was repaired at about 8 pm Wednesday night.

“The road remains closed until the paving can be completed, which we expect will happen today,” says Nick Nilsen, communications officer.

July 25:

A water main break has occurred in the Sunset Properties area near the intersection of Kokanee Road and Chinook Road.

City of Vernon crews are on site working to resolve the issue and will have it fixed as soon as possible.
