Lightning Causes Hedge Fire

There were some tense moments in Vernon’s East Hill area Tuesday night.

Lightning struck a power pole in the 1200 block of 25th Avenue, causing it to ignite a nearby hedge into flames, around 8:30 pm.

Neighbours managed to put out most of the fire before first responders arrived.

There was no major damage.

Vernon Fire Rescue says the incident took place at 1220 25th Avenue.
