MONDAY MUG SOLAR ECLIPSE CHALLENGE!

Aug 21, 2017 | 9:13 AM

I was chatting about this the other day with a KISS FM LISTENER, a Shoe Box Solar Eclipse viewer! You’ll find a video on how to make one as you scroll down the blog. After this morning’s eclipse, maybe save the Shoebox Solar Eclipse Viewer and head to the East Coast in 2024, as that’s where the next solar eclipse will be viewed.  Also since it’s Monday, you know what that means, the MONDAY MUG CHALLENGE is on. Share your photos through TALK or TEXT at 250-545-7557, email melanie.ohara@jpbg.ca, FACEBOOK, INSTAGRAM, use the new KISS FM APP or use TWITTER.

Kiss FM Texter Sue-Anne Fehling just shared this :

“Mel, it’s Sue-Ann. We are just southwest of Baker city near the Oregon trail interpretive center. No cell service to send during the eclipse. We are stopped on the side of the rode with our RV. Words cannot explain the aura of light that happens. A spectacular thing to see! This was during totality!”

Kiss FM Texter Rory White sent these photos in, and texted:

“These pics are only with my phone but it’s amazing sometimes what shows up. So the sun of course is too bright when pointed at but the lense of the phone catches a different reflection that shows where the eclipse is in it’s cycle. Kinda cool. The other is the sun shortly after with the rings caused i think by atmospheric gases…. a much more common event but pretty always nonetheless. “

Hope you’ve enjoyed a great cup of java while discussing the solar eclipse today.

Lori just texted at 250-545-7557, this photo of herself with her special welding glasses mask to watch the view today.

Another Kiss FM Texter Tina just shared these photos that her son Lane shared as well.

Also this photo was sent from Sue Wallace. It’s a photo of her brother-in-law watching the eclipse in his special gear. “Mike deMoissac at his shop in Abbotsford! Enjoy your up beat program!”

Kiss FM Tester Darryl shared “Outside in backyard enjoying eclipse, and yes has gotten considerably cooler.  He also shared how he watched the eclipse with a cardboard pinhole and he watched it through holes in a gazebo canopy.

Thanks to co-worker Tom Mark for taking this photo for me today. Special glasses a must for watching the partial eclipse.

And then there’s these photos from my cousin Steve and friend Danny Steve wrote, they said you needed special glasses to watch the eclipse with. Danny said this is how the horses took in the eclipse!
