Drowning Near West Kelowna

A 25 year old Edmonton man has drowned in Okanagan Lake off West Kelowna.

Police say the man was swimming with a family member last evening near a campground along Westside Road when he ran into trouble and went under and never resurfaced.

Several people in the campground heard the other person’s calls for help.

Some jumped in and were able to find the man and get him to shore where they performed CPR until emergency crews arrived to take over.
