Attempted Abduction
RCMP are seeking tips on a suspect in what is being called an attempted abduction of a young child in the Shuswap this morning.
“A three year old child was playing on the front lawn of their rural residence in the 4000 block of Malakwa Road in Malakwa which is near Sicamous, when a male driving a black sedan approached the child,” Corporal Janelle Shoihet tells Kiss FM.
Shoihet says the mother heard the child yelling and saw the man standing about 10 feet from the child with what appeared to be a small puppy.
“The mother called the child to her, while the male grabbed the dog, got into a late model Lincoln sedan and departed.”
Police are looking a 40 to 45 year old Caucasian man with short, thinning blond hair.
He was said to be average height and build.
His vehicle is described as a black Lincoln, similar to a MKZ, late model, four door, with a BC
licence plate.
The dog is described as small, tan and white in color.
Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact the Sicamous RCMP at 250-836-2878 and cite file 2017-869.
