Park Attack Was Targeted Incident

Police say the victim of a shooting in Polson Park remains in hospital in stable condition.

Mounties say they believe the 21 year old Vernon man was targeted in the incident

No arrests have been made, and police are looking to talk to any witnesses who have yet to come forward.

“The park which was initially closed and evacuated has since been fully reopened,” says Staff Sgt. Annie Linteau, senior media relations officer from “E” Division Communication Services.

The shooting took place around 1:30 pm Thursday when RCMP received several reports that someone had been shot in Polson Park.

Upon arrival, investigators discovered a man was suffering from a gunshot wound.

The man was transported to hospital to be treated for what appeared to be serious but non-life threatening injuries.
