A Kelowna woman has been charged with uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm against BC’s Premier and another Okanagan politician.

The BC Prosecution Service says a special prosecutor has approved charges against Pavla Janeckova.

She allegedly threatened Premier Christy Clark and Speaker Steve Thomson, MLA for Kelowna Mission, on April 30 in Kelowna.

Janeckova’s first court appearance will be on Friday in provincial court in Kelowna.

The special prosecutor, Kris Pechet, is a senior New Westminster lawyer in private practice.

He was given a mandate to provide legal advice to the RCMP investigators as may be necessary, conduct any related charge, and assume conduct of the prosecution if charges were approved.
