A Vancouver company has been awarded the contract to do a services and issues review of the North Westside area of the Central Okanagan Regional District.

EcoPlan International was one of two firms who made a bid, and will do the work for just under 20-thousand dollars. ($19,895)

“It will use a four member team to conduct the review of RDCO services, governance and community interests and issues including opportunities for engaging residents within the North Westside Fire Protection Area,” says a release from the regional district.

A final report is expected by October 23.

The director for North Westside, Wayne Carson, has said residents want to get the facts to make an informed decision on whether they should become their own municipality.

The BC Ministry of Community, Sport and Cultural Development has provided a $20,000 grant for the study.
