Boaters Have Fun, But Be Respectful of Shore Lines

With this long overdue hot Okanagan weather finally here for a few consecutive days,  boaters are reminded that although it`s very nice to get back on the lake… Central Okanagan Emergency Operations is asking boaters for a wake-free weekend.

Okanagan Lake still remains 66 centimetres above full pool, and officials say motorized watercraft that cause wakes could disrupt flood protection measures along the shoreline.

RCMP will be on the water and remind boaters to have fun within limits and slow down when approaching shorelines and be cautious of any floating debris or submerged infrastructure.
