Tween Lakes Manager Confident For Summer

Jun 22, 2017 | 9:25 AM

The manager of Tween Lakes Resort in Oyama is relieved the evacuation order for there is downgraded to an Alert.

The Central Okanagan Regional District made the change Wednesday.

Malcolm Uttley says it`s too early to say what kind of damage has been done by Kal Lake.

`We won`t be able to know that as far as damage goes until the water actually recedes to find out what kind of damage there is. As far as internal, there is none to any of them because they never reached the doors because most of them are jacked up.“

Uttley isn’t worried about losing clients.

“No, most of our clients, they’ve been coming here for 20 or 30 years. Basically what we’ve done is we’ve informed them on what`s going on and as the weeks go no one has cancelled a lot. Some of them have obviously.“

But he still expects to have a prosperous summer.

`I think so. Like I say, it`s uh, cabin rentals are always full anyway. As for our docks and stuff, we`ll be able to sell some fuel. I have fuel on board right now.“

There is still plenty of water in the resort, but Uttley says it has gone down by about 5 inches.
