VFR Reunites Mom and Wayward Ducklings

On a lighter note Vernon Fire Rescue were called yesterday to the 3200 block of 24th. ave to assist in a rescue…of baby ducklings from a storm drain.

Captain Rob Cucheran confirmed to KISS-FM News, there were 4 ducklings involved. Good citizens at the scene removed the grate and called VFR. Mom was not at the scene, so the officers scooped the ducklings out with a net and took them to Polson Park pond.

Although there were some feathers ruffled and it’s assumed mom had a few disciplinary quacks with the webbed wanderers…mom and her flock were happily reunited.
