A drug related explosion at a Vernon apartment almost two years ago has resulted in a suspended sentence for one of the participants.
23 year old James Karl Iverson pled guilty to arson by negligence, and criminal negligence causing body harm in provincial court this week.
He was given the suspended sentence along with three years of probation.
Iverson and another man were extracting marijuana oil using butane in an apartment on Okanagan Avenue in August 2015 when the gas exploded, causing $170,000 damage.
Iverson suffered third degree burns to 85 percent of his body, while the other man was also burned.
Iverson apologized in court to the people the incident impacted.
