Okanagan Lake Up Again

May 29, 2017 | 9:48 AM

Okanagan Lake continued its rise overnight.

Environment Canada says Lake reached 343.08 at 7 a.m. this morning.

That`s a 1.7 centimetre rise since early yesterday morning.

Residents and visitors to the region are reminded to leave flood protection measures in place and bolster them in preparation for high water and possible windy conditions.

Environment Canada’s forecast for the next few days includes a change from hot, sunny conditions to rain and wind by Tuesday evening and into Wednesday.

The City of Vernon is continuing to monitor rising lake levels.

Sandbags and sand for emergency flooding can be picked up at the following locations:

4005 Pleasant Valley Rd
Corner of Okanagan Ave and Okanagan Landing Rd (across from Marshall Fields)
Okanagan Hills Blvd and Bella Vista Rd. intersection (entrance to the Rise community)
