New Operator for Teen Facility
Vernon’s Teen Junction has a new operator.
The Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs has taken over ownership of the youth centre from the North Okanagan Literacy Initiative Society.
Society president Bill Miller says the club will ensure the facility can continue to serve youth for years to come.
The Junction, which is located in the downtown and has been around for 20 years, provides a safe, non-judgmental, environment where young people experience a sense of belonging through peer interaction and positive adult relationships.
Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs is a professional, experienced youth serving organization that operates Youth Centres throughout the Okanagan.
Youth Centres provide safe and supportive places for youth to belong, grow, and develop.
“We welcome Teen Junction to Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs and our network of Youth Centres and youth serving professionals across the Okanagan,” says Diane Entwistle, CEO of Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs. “Teen Junction has a long history of serving youth in the Vernon area. We will continue to develop and enhance Teen Junction as a safe place for youth to belong.”
