Demolition Closer For City Buildings

Demolition of some city-owned buildings in the 2900 block of 29th Street near the Library, is scheduled to take place over the coming weeks.

Hazardous material has been removed from the former New Delhi Restaurant and Open Door Learning Centre, and gas line removal is the next step.

The actual demolition will take three weeks, with completion by the end of June.

“A downtown parking lot will be developed on the site following an RFP (request for proposals) for the project,” says a City of Vernon news release.
