Capsized Barge Owner To Have It Removed

The man who owns that pile driver/barge that capsized near the Vernon Yacht Club on Sunday hopes to have it gone soon.

Brent Jolife of Valley Pile Driving had the barge pulled close to shore so it’s no longer impeding traffic at the Yacht Club.

His plan now is to have it taken apart

” There was nothing really wrong with it but when water got into it and it went over it twisted the hull, so that’s the end of that.”

Jolife says the authorities are satisfied with what he’s done to manage the situation.

All that’s left to do is have it destroyed.

” There’s no leaking so the environment and everybody I talked to said fine, just let us know what’s up. Soon as I get the boys lined in proper places we’ll have it done.”

He still doesn’t know why it took on water and there was no fuel spill.
