Two Small Fires At Coldstream Ranch
May 16, 2017 | 6:51 AM
Coldstream firefighters worked into the evening Monday to deal with a fire at Coldstream Ranch.
They were called about 3 pm to a fire in a loader.
Just as they finished putting it out, another fire broke out in a shavings pile about 100 meters away.
Fire crews spent about 3 hours on the scene.
Fifteen firefighters from Coldstream also had help from a water tender from Lavington.
The burned loader was a write off.
Fire Chief Dave Sturgeon says ICBC will take over the investigation, but the fire is not considered suspicious.
The shavings fire is a product of combustion that has been multiplying over the winter and with the dryer weather and wind it has kicked up the flames from the centre of the pile.
