Funtastic Announces Music Lineup

Apr 28, 2017 | 9:41 AM

The Funtastic Sports Society has announced its music lineup for this year’s festival on the Canada Day weekend.

Society Executive Director Tony Pallas says the headliners should draw a crowd.

“We’ve got The Odds coming up from Vancouver. We’ve got the Young UNs ripping it up as well. And of course, we’ve got one of the number one bands coming out of Kelowna right now that’s actually top five on the billboard – It’s a group called The Wild.”

Tony Pallas says several other bands will join them, including a couple of local favourites.

” Absolutely, I mean The Legendary Lake Monsters indeed and of course Shawn Lightfoot.
I mean he’s just absolutely an amazing performer and how could we ever have a Funtastic without having Shawn involved in it and his band.
The weekend will feature free music during the day from 11 am to 4 pm July 1st, 2nd and 3rd.

Tickets for the evening concerts are on sale now.

The festival runs in conjunction with the Slo-Pitch tournament that begins June 30th.

Planning for that is going great, according to Pallas.

” The majority of the tournament is sold out except for our “A” Division. What we’ve done is this year is our “A” Division is a cash division, meaning the team’s that play in “A” Division can potentially win up to 2500 dollars.

Proceeds from the event go towards Funtastic’s annual Community Grant Program
