Lake Search Called Off

RCMP have suspended their search for a man missing in the Mabel Lake area.

Fifty-seven year old Bruce Van Hasstrecht hasn’t been seen since April 1st.

He had been living in a cabin on Mable Lake Road and it’s been thought he may have gone into the lake.

The RCMP Underwater Recovery team completed a two day search of water and underwater sonar this past weekend.

Vernon Search and Rescue conducted further searches on those days as well but found no sign of him.

The search is suspended for the time being and will be reassessed as water temperatures and levels change.
