Some Improvement In Pool Chlorine Levels

Staff at the Vernon Aquatic Centre are still working to bring down chlorine levels in the pool.
The facility had to be shut down last Friday due to high levels.
Recreation Services Director Doug Ross says they have been re-treating the water with other chemicals.
” The combined chlorine levels are still higher than we’d like them to be. We’re working towards reducing those down but they’re certainly within normal parameters.”
Ross says the levels impacted some swimmers last Friday.
“We have received some feedback from some individuals that maybe have sensitivities to chlorine or maybe they had some trouble breathing.”
Ross says staff have been manually chlorinating the pool since the ozone system has been down.
