Update: Pedestrian Injured By Vehicle
The victim of an accident in downtown Vernon remains in hospital in serious but stable condition.
A 73 year-old man was loading groceries into the back of his pickup truck on 31st Avenue Tuesday, when he was pinned by a car coming in to park behind him.
The man suffered serious lower body injuries .
No charges are being considered against the 81 year old man driving the car, and his vehicle is getting inspected for any mechanical issues.

A man was taken to hospital after being hit by a vehicle in downtown Vernon.
RCMP Sgt. Colby Attlesey says the victim suffered a serious potentially life threatening lower body injury in the incident where its believed the man was pinned between two vehicles.
“He suffered a serious lower body injury,” Attlesey tells Kiss FM.
The investigation into what happened is ongoing.
“An elderly gentleman was putting groceries in the back of his pickup truck, and he was pinned against his truck by another vehicle,” says Captain Doug Imrich from Vernon Fire Rescue.
Imrich says it appears the driver was pulling into a parking spot when it hit the man.
The incident happened on 31st Avenue in front of Fine Kettle of Fish around 11:30 am.
