Power outage in Lake Country

A power outage is affecting approximately 240 customers in Lake Country Monday evening.

B.C. Hydro reports the outage north of Pelmewash Parkway began at 6:49 p.m. and was caused by a fire.

Vernon Matters listeners have reported that the outage has caused traffic to back up along Highway 97.

B.C. Hydro says crews are on their way and are expected arrive on the scene by 8:15 p.m.

There is no estimated time for how long it will take to resolve the issue and get power back on.
