Update: Car fire on Commonage Road

Update 8:45 a.m.

The City of Vernon issued the following details on the vehicle fire:

“Vernon Fire Rescue Services was called to a report of an SUV on fire on Commonage Road at 10:52 p.m.

Firefighters put out the fire quickly and were done on the scene by 11:30 p.m.

There was no threat to any structure.

Vernon Fire Rescue Services worked to extinguish a late-night vehicle fire Wednesday night along Commonage Road.

Crews were called out at approximately 10:45 p.m. to hose down the blaze.

RCMP also attended the scene.

According to dispatch reports, the fire was fully extinguished by 11:30 p.m.
