In loving memory. September 26, 1955 to May 12, 2026. We honour and remember a remarkable man whose strength, compassion, and resilience left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him. Living a life defined through perseverance, generosity, heart, and joy. Believing in helping others and offering wise advice to anyone he could. He always wanted to give to others. Leaving fingerprints on the world without ever asking for recognition. His resilience, perseverance, creativity, sense of humour, kind heart, openness for adventure, love of nature, passion, and will to enjoy all of the little things in life will never be forgotten. Always choosing courage. Through all he had been through, he was relentless, confident, and climbed mountains proudly. He taught us all that strength is compassion. Strength is giving your all, and standing up for what you believe in.
His friendships stretched across Canada, a testament to the kind of person he was. His phone was constantly ringing with meaningful conversations that lasted hours — friends seeking his wisdom, comfort, humour, or simply the warmth of his presence. He had a rare gift for making people feel valued, heard, and important. He worked hard, loved fully, conversed intentionally, and never stopped caring for others. Helping build many projects across Canada, including the Jasper Skywalk — a glass structure that is suspended above the mountains and carved into one of the most breathtaking landscapes in Jasper National Park. To build something against strong wind, weather, and cliffs, he never had fear. He helped create something inspiring, reflecting the craftsmanship he carried throughout his life, where over 200,000 visitors seek the skywalk each season. He was always so proud of this project, and have visited there since building it — along with his son, and daughter, where she ended up getting engaged in legacy of her dad. The mountains may hold the Jasper Skywalk that he helped create, but his greatest legacy was never built from steel or stone, but through the countless lives he continued to touch.
He leaves behind his son, his daughter, his family, and beloved life long connections across Canada. Friends from elementary school. Friends in every province. People from every walk of life were drawn to his warmth, wisdom, honesty, and sincerity. Always checking in on others. Phone calls for hours. Listening deeply. Offering his wise advice. Telling stories of the simple joys of every day life, and always making people feel important. He was proud of everyone he knew, and grateful to have all of these connections. When he spoke to you, he gave you his whole heart, attention, and ability to remember the littlest things that people often don’t attend to. He loved animals without condition and has passed away with his dear cat alongside him, Bear. His heart had room for everyone. He gave more than he ever kept for himself — more patience, more kindness, more effort, more love. He gave life everything he had. And life is better because he did. In the memories, and the love he leaves behind, his legacy will always live on. If love can be reached anywhere beyond here, we hope that it can reach him. He will be remembered with profound respect, deepest gratitude, and enduring love. September 26, 1955 — May 12, 2026.
