Wildfire ‘Being Held’

There is good news today on the only wildfire of note burning in BC.

The BC Wildfire Service says the status of the East Shuswap Road Fire east of Kamloops has been changed from “out of control” to “being held.”

The fire is still active but no further growth is expected on the 545 hectare blaze.

Meantime, the fire danger rating in most of the Okanagan and Shuswap is moderate to high, meaning the forest fuels are drying out and the fire risk is becoming more serious.
