City of Vernon Penalizing Late Payments

It’s an A grade for property taxpayers in the City of Vernon.

Revenue Services Manager Cindy Barker says 96 percent of people paid their municipal taxes on time this year.

A total of 20,433 property tax notices were mailed out.

There is a ten percent penalty for people who haven’t paid and Barker says the city is currently after $281,968.14 cents in penalties for unpaid 2018 property taxes.
