GVAC Looking For Grants For Water Projects

Greater Vernon Water is seeking15-million-dollars from the federal government, about one-third of the cost of the Mission Hill water treatment plant filtration system.

The head of the Greater Vernon Advisory Committee, Juliette Cunningham, says staff have been given the nod to move forward with the grant request.

Cunningham says she is hopeful…pointing to the big grant recently obtained by Kelowna.

“They’ve had an influx of over 40 million dollars from those grants so we believe we should have a fair shot at getting some for our projects here.”
