The City of Vernon is providing financial assistance to a local sports group.
Council has approved giving the Vernon Pickleball Association 145-thousand dollars to be paid back through a ten year lease.
The funding will allow the club to complete the new 12 court facility being built in Marshall Field, including a synthetic court surface, that would allow all members of the public to use it this season.
The plan still needs approval from a majority of club members to proceed.
