No Break On Water Rates For Commercial Cannabis Growers Within RDNO

Regional district directors have confirmed a GVAC decision not to give commercial cannabis operations a break on water rates.

The district has received a number of development applications.

While growing cannabis will be classified as farm use, RDNO board chair Bob Fleming says that doesn’t mean they should pay agricultural rates for water.

“We’re trying to encourage those operations as industrial uses and under those circumstances, and there’s a number of them out there already, that are getting  I-C-I rates, so industrial commercial rates.”
