Bill C-45 Could Pass Tonight
Word out of Ottawa is that recreational marijuana could be legal this week, in fact Senator Jim Munson says the bill could even pass tonight.
Conservatives continue to say Bill C-45 is flawed and won’t reduce marijuana consumption by young Canadians.
The Senate proposed several amendments to the legislation, including one which would have authorized provinces to prohibit the home cultivation of marijuana plants, but those were rejected by the Trudeau Liberals.
There was an amendment to the federal government’s cannabis legalization bill proposed that would have recognized the authority of provincial governments to ban home cultivation of marijuana plants if they choose, but the Senators have voted 45-35 against insisting on it.
