Rain, Rain Go Away!
Vernon came close to breaking an 95 year old weather record due to all the rain over the weekend.
Armel Castellan from Environment Canada says the storm brought bursts of intense rain to areas like Vernon.
“On the 9th, which is Saturday. 8.1 millimetres fell, and on Sunday, 18 millimetres fell. The 18 is actually good for the second most amount of rain on a June 10th. In 1923, 24.4 millimetres fell,” Castellan tells Beach Radio News.
Higher elevations were blanketed with fresh snow, including Silver Star, which had over 30 centimetres.
