Rain, Possible Snow On the Way

Jun 7, 2018 | 3:41 PM

A special weather statement has been issued for the Okanagan, the Shuswap, and other parts of BC’s Southern Interior.

Environment Canada is forecasting a wet and cool weekend much of the region.

High elevation travellers routes may see some snow on Sunday.

Rain is expected to start Friday night and continue through Saturday.

“Over the latter half of the weekend, the strong southerly flow will shift eastwards into Alberta and be replaced with a cool and unsettled airmass. Showery conditions and scattered thunderstorms are likely to prevail on Sunday,” says the weather agency.

In light of the recent, lengthy stretch of dry weather conditions, increased surface run-off with localized flooding could be cause for concern this weekend.
