Update: Highway Crash Backs Up Traffic

RCMP have released details on a crash in Spallumcheen Thursday afternoon that had traffic backed up in both directions.

“A pick-up truck travelling south bound on Highway 97 struck a small SUV as it executed a left hand turn from St. Anne’s Rd onto Highway 97 north bound just after 2 pm,” says Cst. Kelly Brett.

Brett says the highway was shut down for a short period of time due to the collision.

“Both drivers and three other passengers involved in the collision sustained non-life threatening injuries and were transported to the nearest medical facility by the BC Ambulance Service.”


June 7:

Police, fire, and ambulance are at scene of two vehicle crash on Highway 97 at St. Anne’s Road, by the Spallumcheen Golf Course entrance.

It was reported just before 2:30 pm.

Reports from the scene say two people were extricated, with unknown injuries.

Traffic is backed up on the highway for several kilometres in both directions, according to reports.
