Vendors Needed For Health and Wellness Fair

Apr 16, 2018 | 4:38 PM

Businesses are needed to be part of a health and wellness fair for City of Vernon employees.

The event will be held May 8th at the Recreation Centre, and Gary Lefebvre, the City’s Aquatics Coordinator and co-chair of the occupational health and safety committee, says they have room for about 50 vendors.

“We’d like to get a variety, whether it’s health food, chiropractic services or mental health practitioners, anything like that who can help our employees live a healthier lifestyle,” Lefebvre tells Beach Radio News.

Lefebvre says they might even consider a medical cannabis business.

“I certainly haven’t got any contact from any vendors of that type yet, but I’m always open to to receive the phone call.”

Lefebvre says the event is held in conjunction with North American Health and Safety Week.

The City has 320 full-time equivalent employees in a wide variety of roles: labourers, clerical staff, administrators, engineers, planners, recreation staff, fire fighters, RCMP support staff, trades workers, equipment operators and more.

Interested businesses can register at no cost for the City of Vernon Employee Health & Wellness Fair by contacting Recreation Services at 250-545-6035 or fun@vernon.ca. The registration deadline is May 1.
