Thirsty Thief Has Beer Goggles On

Apr 15, 2018 | 9:14 AM

So this guy walks into a convenience store wanting to buy beer…this almost sounds like the beginning of a joke…but it certainly didn’t turn out that way for a Sebastian, Florida man.

Police say 33 year-old Christopher Maxwell entered a convenience store at 2;30 a.m. Friday, but was told he couldn’t buy beer because alcohol sales are banned in the city between 1 and 7 a.m.

Now, when you’re looking for beer at 2:30 in the morning, chances are you’ve probably have had too much already and may not be thinking about…what you’re about to say.

He said “So, what if I steal the beer then”…the clerk said she would call 911…he took the beer…she called the cops.

Police found Maxwell nearby with an 18-pack in each hand…which he really didn’t want to let go of, the Police putting credence to the phrase “you can’t take it with you”

He remained jailed today on charges of petty theft and battery on a police officer.  Records don’t show if he has an attorney…time to cash in those beer cans, might be an investment.
