Fire Probe Continues

The cause of a fire that disrupted activity for several Vernon merchants remains under investigation.

The blaze last Thursday ignited in some boxes and other items in a back-alley on 30th Avenue, leading to five businesses being evacuated.

There was some fire and smoke damage.

Deputy fire chief Scott Hemstad tells CJIB News, investigators still have not determined the cause, or if it was suspicious, but should know more soon.
