Rain Amounts Vary Widely in Valley

The Vernon area got off light,  when it comes to the amount of rain that fell Thursday night —  compared to other areas of the Okanagan.

Lisa West from Environment Canada says the Vernon weather station at the Coldstream ranch received 6.7 millimetres of rain.

“Down by Kelowna, it was more in the range of 12 to 14 millimetres of rain, and some of the hardest hit areas were Penticton and Summerland which ended up with about 29 millimetres of rain,” West tells CJIB News.

West says the storm featured some areas with intense rainfall.
