City Updates Fire Plan

Enderby Council has had an update from a consulting company it hired to look at its wildfire prevention plan.

Councillor Brian Schreiner says although Enderby was spared the wrath of wildfires last year, it was felt the city needed to make sure its plan was updated.

“They go through all the risks and the different areas in where there is fuel for fire and stuff like that.”

The city is also working with its neighbours.

“Like Splatsin. It neighbours our community. They’re doing one as well. Then we have, of course, landowners and farm owners that border our community. So you want to make sure they’re doing their due diligence.”
