‘Cook-Off’ Proceeds Put To Good Cause
Vernon’s Salvation Army is benefiting from a popular Winter Carnival event.
The Downtown Vernon Association has presented the social agency with a 950 dollar donation, after 450 people participated in the 9th annual Chili Cook-Off last month.
Dudley Coulter from the DVA says they donate 50 percent of the proceeds to a different non profit group each year on behalf of downtown businesses.
“We are happy to help whenever we can,” says Coulter, Events and Promotions Coordinator.
